I write book and lyrics for musicals, usually with my co-conspirator Curtis Moore. (That’s us in the black and white photo below, clearly doing some exceedingly important composing.) We are winners of the Fred Ebb Award for “excellence in musical theatre songwriting,” as well as recipients of a Jonathan Larson Grant from the American Theatre Wing.

Our shows include Triangle (winner of 6 Theatre Bay Area Awards including “Outstanding World Premiere Musical”), The Legend of Stagecoach Mary (NAMT Festival of New Musicals) and The Bus to Buenos Aires (Ensemble Studio Theatre, NYC). We are currently working on four new pieces including musicals for Universal Live Theatricals, Grove/Whitman Commissions, and Scott Sanders Productions. If you would like more in-depth updates and buckets of content from my musical theatre life, head over to MizerandMoore.com.

But since you’re already here, feel free to scroll down and check out a few of my current favorites from our songbook.

An inside look at the first time the original cast of Triangle sang through the show with the orchestra. One of my favorite days ever.

“Mine” from The Legend of Stagecoach Mary. Filmed at A Night with Northwestern in New York. [Note: The video quality is poor but the sound is great. I think it's worth the fuzzy visuals to hear Heather sing.]

“Someone Like Me” performed by Bonnie Milligan with Marnie Nicolella & Anne Tolpegin at Long Stories Short: The Songs of Mizer and Moore. By Curtis Moore, Matthew Brookshire & Thomas Mizer. [Note: There is a slight footage gap in the middle of the song. Stuff happens.]
